Repairing or Relining Full or Partial Dentures
ONE DAY REPAIRS
Because we have an on site lab, most acrylic repairs of partials and dentures can be done in one day. Typically, a repair that we give to our lab technician before 10:00 am can be processed and returned to you that same afternoon. Repairs are taken by appointment only, in order to allow our lab technician a manageable number of repairs to process each day. These repairs can be normally be processed in one day:
- Repair of cracked or broken acrylic dentures
- Replacing a lost denture tooth or re-attach a denture tooth
- Replacing a broken metal clasp with a new wrought wire clasp
Some repairs take longer to process – welding broken metal frames or replacing more than 4 teeth on an appliance, for instance. In some cases, we have to order replacement teeth if we don’t have the correct tooth (size, shape, or color) in order to complete a repair. It’s hard to know for certain until we see your appliance. Please call or send us a message if you would like clarification on the cost or processing time of your repair.
We also offer one day service for relines of partials and dentures. A reline can improve the fit of a partial or denture by adding a layer of acrylic to the tissue side of an appliance. This new layer of acrylic will update the fit of a denture, which can become loose over time as your gum tissue shrinks and changes. As with repairs, impressions for relines must be taken before 10:00 am in order to have them returned in the afternoon.
We also offer relines using soft acrylic, though soft relines require a overnight processing. Soft acrylic is more forgiving, but is not as durable as hard acrylic, and must be replaced more frequently. If you have any questions regarding relines, please call or send us a message.
One day repairs or relines can’t be schedule on Fridays due to our abbreviated office hours.
